Spazio Taverna
Fifty years after Christo’s installation at Porta Pinciana, Spazio Taverna launches the project Le 10 porte del futuro, consisting of the affixing of two banners for each of the city’s ten historic gates. Ten artists and ten architects were invited to take part in the project. The banners produced by the artists were placed at the entrance and those of the architects at the exit. For the first time in history, the Aurelian Walls were transformed into an open-air art gallery. [Text extracted from the Press Release].
Numero Cromatico presented Il futuro è qui, da qualche parte (2024), a PVC banner measuring 4×4 m in which the future is not indicated or represented, rather it is questioned in the present, also in relation to the genius loci. The artwork contains a textual stimulus written by Numero Cromatico with the help of its AI, S.O.N.H. (acronym for Statements Of a New Humanity), instructed by the artist to generate statements on the future of humanity.
The project aims to narrate the future as a way of perceiving and imagining; as something that invests society and the planet, but also the lives of individuals and their visions of the world. Il futuro è qui, da qualche parte is not meant to point towards a direction but to offer the public the possibility of questioning the present in a critical and potential way.
