Straperetana is an event founded by Paola Capata and Delfo Durante in 2017 that brings a widespread exhibition of contemporary art to Palazzo Maccafani, Palazzo Iannucci and the streets of the village of Pereto (L’Aquila). The title for the 8th edition is Supernatural, and it is precisely from the immersion in Nature that the concept was born, involving artists who have made the physical and intellectual relationship with the environment, the passion for science, and the observation of the landscape in a romantic or conceptual sense the centre of their poetics and research. For the occasion, Numero Cromatico presented Il vento ti porta a me (2024), with the aim to initiate a reflection on the future of humanity. A series of flags combine texts produced in collaboration with generative algorithms and photographic images of nature manipulated and transformed into ambiguous scenarios. These “prophecies”, suspended in the wind, invite the audience to reflect on their role in shaping the future, emphasising the smallness of individuals in the face of the immensity of time and space. The installation as a whole is an invitation to re-think the present and consider the possibilities that lie ahead, between the resilience of nature and the fascination for the future.
