When we think of the act of drawing, we picture someone who, faced with a subject – be it a person, an object, a landscape – tries to reproduce it in a more or less realistic manner or through a personal style. The act of drawing without seeing challenges this approach and opens up an unusual exploration not only of space but also of one’s inner contents.
Performing an action that normally requires visual control brings into play unusual perceptual and relational conditions.

For the workshop Drawing in the Dark, visual deprivation is proposed on the one hand as a method for constructing unusual, out-of-the-ordinary images, and on the other hand as a personal experience to test oneself in the production and interpretation of the image produced.
