MAXXIVERSO is the digital extension of MAXXI Museum in Roma and L’Aquila, hosting interactive artworks and immersive virtual installations by Valentina Vetturi, Michela de Mattei, Miltos Manetas, Jon Rafman, Riccardo Benassi, Danilo Correale and Numero Cromatico. 

For the digital space of MAXXIVERSO, Numero Cromatico produced the project The future is here, somewhere. The opening was held on September 27, 2023, with the participation of the curator Chiara Bertini and the director Bartolomeo Pietromarchi, who, together with Numero Cromatico, presented the work to the public present on the platform.

The future is here, somewhere consists of a flag displayed in MAXXI’s digital courtyard. As well as constituting an installation, the flag also becomes a portal, allowing the spectator to access a multisensory space in which each user is free to move and explore, and live their own experience. The space conceived by Numero Cromatico is composed of visual and sound elements, also generated with the aid of its own artificial intelligence and generative algorithms. 

The project stands as an open stimulus to the interpretation of the user who, starting from the very title of the work, is called upon to imagine possible future scenarios.
