“36 Cards for Infinite Forms” is an ongoing workshop created for “Tabula Plena” as part of the “Pedagogy of Hope” project at GAMeC. Using magnetic tiles that can be freely combined on specially designed boards, participants create ever-changing configurations, experiencing the principles of algorithmic thinking firsthand.

The project builds upon the research initiated by Sergio Lombardo in the 1980s with “Stochastic Painting”, updating its principles through a participatory practice that explores the relationship between algorithms, images, and human choice.

The experience highlights that algorithms are not rigid or predetermined structures, but rather the result of human decisions, strategies, and choices. The multitude of possible combinations invites an exploration of creativity, logic, and active participation in the process of discovery.
