Re:Humanism 2 | Re:define the Boundaries is the exhibition of Re:Humanism Art Prize, the first Italian art prize devoted to the relationship between contemporary art and artificial intelligence.
For the occasion, Numero Cromatico presented the project Epitaphs for the Human Artist which takes up the literary form of the epitaph in order to declare the death of the human artist. Through a text generator based on Artificial Neural Networks, the intimate gesture of commemorating the deceased – intrinsic to the literary form of the epitaph – is here referred to a machine that, symbolically, dismisses the human artist from the world of the living, decreeing his end.
Epitaphs for the Human Artist si compone di tre stendardi tessuti a mano e un libro d’artista contenente un corpus di 300 epitaffi, generati con l’ausilio di P.O.E., acronimo di Poetry Of the End, a partire da incipit della tradizione dell’epitaffio.
